Computer Design Engineer
CCS-Inc. is looking for a Computer Design Engineer. The ideal candidate will be a computer expert with 3+ years of hands-on computer hardware and software experience. The candidate will work with contacts to qualify technical requirements and design computing solutions for use in various environments. Good mechanical aptitude and/or experience working in an ISO compliant manufacturing environment are a plus. Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering degree with a computer hardware focus is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered. In depth knowledge of Microsoft operating systems required. In depth knowledge of computer networking preferred. IT certifications such as A+, Network+, CCNA, MCP, MCSE preferred.

II. Duties and Responsibilities
A. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Creates designs for all new project opportunities in addition to being a source of knowledge for new technologies.
- Manages the need for evaluation of new products for all engineering groups as needed.
- Maintains designs over the life of the project or until the project handoff to the systems engineering group has been completed.
- Acts as the pre-sales technical resource
- Works closely with the sales team to design solutions to customer requirements
- Evaluates and reports on new technologies and how to better utilize existing technologies.
- Works closely with purchasing to evaluate vendor relationships and how they benefit our products.
- Qualifies new vendors and products as required for Quality Assurance and meeting Customer Requirements.
- Interacts with systems engineering group by understanding current project requirements and issues, and providing input on new products that should be considered.
- Assist sales and marketing to design new product offerings based on market research and market demand.
- Tracks industry trends, relevant legislation and competitor activities via the Internet, trade shows, or other available interfaces and communicates to engineering, sales and marketing
- Assist systems engineering team in upkeep of current products
- Manage common raw materials to meet market demand
- Utilize current/major vendors to complete majority of designs
- Work with Purchasing to maintain list of vendors used in designs and products
- Meet with customers and sales on design requirements to satisfy customer and maximize profits
- Assist support with design prototype field issues
- Lead and assist production during production prototype builds
B. Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

- Manufacturing Engineering duties as required.
- Service and Production Technician duties as required.
III. Knowledge Requirements
A. Education requirements
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A+ Certified Computer Technician required.
- Network+ Certified Computer Technician required.
- MCP certification on mainstream network operating system required.
- MCSE certification on mainstream network operating system preferred.
