Board of Advisors

Minnis E. Ridenour

Minnis Ridenour has served on the CCS Board of Advisors since 2005. Although Mr. Ridenour recently retired from full-time service at Virginia Tech as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, he continues to serve as Senior Fellow for Resource Development. He also teaches graduate level courses in financial management for governmental and non-profit entities. Mr. Ridenour’s previous roles at the university include:  Budget Director, Vice President of Finance, and Executive Vice President. In addition to serving on the Board of Advisors for CCS-Inc., Mr. Ridenour serves on the board for the Carilion Foundation, the board of the Virginia United Methodist Foundation, and the General Board of Pension and Health Benefits for the United Methodist Church. Mr. Ridenour attended the University of Tennessee, where he received his bachelor’s degree in marketing and retailing, and his master’s degree in public finance and higher education administration.

Dr. Brett Malone

Dr. Brett Malone has served on our board since 2005. He is a technology business development professional with experience in product development, commercialization, marketing, and sales. Dr. Malone has served the technology industry for over 20 years, leading a wide range of businesses from software companies to biotech ventures. He also specializes in the commercialization of early-stage and new market technologies.  Dr. Malone is the founder of TopGear Automation and is involved in Business Development at AC&E, Inc. From 2006 to 2009, he held various executive-level positions at the Intrexon Corporation. Dr. Malone served as the Director of Qualtrax, Inc. from 2006 to 2007. He was also the founder and CEO of Phoenix Integration from 1995-2006. Dr. Malone attended Virginia Tech, where he received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in aerospace and ocean engineering, and his doctorate in aerospace engineering.

Matthew Magallanes

Matthew Magallanes has served on our board since 2008. He is currently the Vice President of Westhaven Golf Club and the Vice President of Business Development at Southern Land Company. From 2003 to 2005, Mr. Magallanes served as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at CCS-Inc. He has held executive-level positions at four separate companies and has spent over 20 years as an entrepreneur in the high-tech fields of software and computer hardware manufacturing and sales. Mr. Magallanes attended Indiana University Bloomington.
